Not in the product today
Supplier quality is the next module, not a current one. The screens described below are planned work, and none of them is available in the platform today. What the product does do now is the customer side of the same discipline: requirement profiles, incoming characteristics on a control plan, and your own submissions.
There is no screenshot here because there is no screen yet. Everything else on this site shows the application as it actually is.
A certificate in an inbox is not incoming control.
Material and plating certificates arrive by email and land in a folder named after the month. When a customer asks which heat number went into the parts they were shipped, the answer is an afternoon of searching — and sometimes it is not there at all.
The same is true of supplier PPAP. Asking a supplier for a submission and holding what comes back against the part they supply, rather than against an email thread, is what makes their approval state something you can state rather than remember.
That is the problem the module below is being built to answer. It is described in the future tense throughout, because that is the tense it is currently in.
Incoming inspection
Planned: results against the specification for the bought part, with the gauge that took them.
Material lots and certificates
Planned: the certificate held against the lot, and the lot against the parts it became.
Supplier PPAP
Planned: request a submission, hold the elements, and know which are outstanding.
Scorecards
Planned: acceptance rate, PPM and certificate compliance computed from records rather than typed into a review deck.
Sub-tier visibility
Planned: who supplies your supplier, where that matters to your customer.
Nonconformance to supplier
Planned: a rejection raised against a supplier keeping its link to the lot and the certificate.
What you can do about suppliers today.
A bought characteristic can already live on the control plan and be verified like any other, and a nonconformance can already be raised against it. What is missing is the supplier as a first-class record — the scorecard, the certificate library and the supplier submission.
